Tips for the Holiday Season

The holidays are just around the corner and it seems like they sneak up on us every year. This year you can take a little stress out of the holidays by following a few simple tips. Start a list of items that you will need to purchase for the holidays; include food, decorations, gifts, gift wrap, cards, and even clothing for those special events. Estimate how much you will spend for each of these categories and start a holiday budget. Next, look around your house before going shopping and try to cut down on your spending by getting creative and using things in your home this holiday season. More than likely you will have left over gift wrap, plenty of decorations, and even groceries in your pantry. The majority of households have food they can use in the pantry without spending a lot of money. This year prepare your holiday meal around things you currently have in the freezer or pantry. Buy in advance this year and look for coupons or discounts. Shop with a plan and don’t be tempted to buy miscellaneous things. Follow these simple steps and make the holidays a little less stressful.
